Highschool Graduation | MRA 2017
I had the pleasure of working as photographer for Matthew Road Academy's Second graduating class of highschool seniors, and this year, some of these kids I knew on a personal level, so it hit home for me that these kids, were no longer kids anymore.
As the years go on, you begin to realize that the kids you knew, have now become young adults trying to find their way in the world. Seeing them reminded me of my graduation day almost 15 years ago. I had high hopes and dreams, and so far, thanks to the grace of God, I have been fulfilling those hopes, just not within the timetable that I thought. That is something everyone graduating and just living life will need to remember, that God's plans do not always coincide with what we have planned out. The verse that the class chose for themselves was Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope."
Doing these projects have brought me such joy, getting to capture everyone's special moments. Weddings, graduations, maternity shoots, they bring me so much joy. As my own family begins to grow, I have wanted to start capturing these moments as well.
